From our readers ...
"As a twenty-year veteran in the field of health promotion, I need information that goes beyond the science of data.  In addition to the facts and figures, I depend upon shared field experiences, reflective observations, and the insight of respected front-line practitioners.  For this, I look to The Art of Health Promotion".

We launched The Art of Health Promotion newsletter in March, 1997 to serve the needs of health promotion practitioners.  Our editorial goal is "to provide in-depth information for effective programming".

I have been privileged to work for over 20 years as a health promotion practitioner and consultant, and I cannot tell you the number of times I searched for a reliable source of scientifically sound information to support my programs.  So much of the information that was available was either unproven or too theoretical for use in a practice setting.

That's why I am so excited to serve as the Editor of The Art of Health Promotion section of the American Journal of Health Promotion.  We believe that it successfully bridges the gap between health promotion research and practice.  We are confident that it will provide you with the scientifically sound information, shaped by practical and proven solutions from real life situations, that you need in order to successfully manage your program.

For example, our premier issue of the newsletter reported the results of the first ever comprehensive benchmarking study of workplace health promotion programs.  Success issues have explored the topics that are important to you and your programs, such as "Securing Support from Top Management", "Health Impact of Workplace Health Promotion Programs and Methodological Quality of the Research Literature", "Worksite Health Promotion in the Managed Care Era", and "Financial Impact of Worksite Health Promotion, and Methodological Quality of the Evidence" to name a few.  Our Newsletter also uses a variety of formats, from in-depth problem-focused articles to expert panel discussions and pro/con presentations on key issues, to provide you with the most useful and relevant presentation of the information.
